Why Should You Hire McKinley IP?
Patent prosecution is a complex and demanding process that requires navigating a maze of legal requirements, technical details, and strategic considerations. From drafting technically accurate and detailed patent applications to overcoming complicated rejections and negotiating with patent office examiners, every step is fraught with challenges that require a deep understanding of both the law and the innovation at hand. The stakes are high, and the margin for error is slim, making patent prosecution not just a legal process, but a rigorous test of both technical and legal expertise.
I've been a registered patent attorney for over 25 years. I have written and successfully prosecuted hundreds of patents through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. I enjoy assisting clients with invention development, infringement risk minimization, as well as product efficacy and manufacturing feasibility. My practice is largely focused on, but not limited to, medical devices.
I have extensive mechanical experience that I acquired during his nearly seven years serving as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. Prior to my commissioning, I earned my bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University. While serving, I earned my law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
